Detox Day 2, Listening To My Body
Detox Day 2, Listening To My Body
So yesterday’s dinner ended up being...(drumroll, please)...popcorn. Yes, you read that right. I had been snacking on raw veggies all afternoon trying to decide on what to make. And in the end, my Homemade Popcorn just sounded really good. At first I dismissed the idea because popcorn does not a “proper” dinner make. And then I remembered that a huge part of my Vegan Detox Plan is just getting reacquainted with my body’s natural cues. So I gave in and made a big bowl of popcorn. And you know what? It hit the freakin’ spot. I should really learn to trust myself more.

In keeping with my “listening to my body” goal, I didn’t really eat lunch. Breakfast kept me full for hours and I really didn’t feel like eating anything when lunch time rolled around. So, over the course of the afternoon, I had a couple of carrots dipped in hummus, some walnuts, a pink lady apple and a clementine.
Dinner was a different story. As the day wore on, I started getting pretty hungry. I wanted something substantial and filling. I had bought a couple of sweet potatoes and a beautiful bunch of fresh sage from the market yesterday so I decided to let them be the star of my dinner show.
The toasted sage has such an earthy, peppery flavour and the sweet potato makes it so sweet, smooth and creamy. This stew is satisfying, totally filling and very detox-friendly. What an awesome dinner. Listening to my body’s own natural cues have never tasted so good. And I am so grateful to have a lot of leftovers for lunch tomorrow!
Even my picky princess liked it!
